History: In 1944, Wayne County was declared a soil & water conservation district.

Our Mission: The mission of this district was to serve as a local agency to manage, protect and conserve the county's soil, water and natural resources.

What we offer you: The district offers assistance to landowners, municipalities, business and the agricultural communities in the best use and overall conservation of our natural resources.

Today the Wayne County Soil & Water Conservation District, SWCD, continues to serve the public with the highest level of quality and professionalism by delivering over thirteen programs and services vital to our natural resources.
