Maplegrove's owner, Gisela Schneider,
creates knitted works of art in natural fibers. Beginning with fleeces from her own
flocks, she spins, dyes and knits with angora, cashmere, llama and hypoallergenic merino
wools. She also mixes alpaca, musk ox and silk to clothe her clientele in the softest and
warmest fibers obtainable.

A visit to Maplegrove, in the
central New York Town of Sterling, is a step into classic elegance. Besides sweaters and
dresses, there are accessories and cones, skeins and rovings in every color and weight
imaginable. |

| Gisela, whose acquaintance with
knitting began with her childhood in Europe, creates her own designs. You will find
many European motifs in her knitwear. Given the time, Gisela will custom knit most wool
combinations, colors and styles. |
