The Wayne County Water Quality Coordinating Committee, WQCC, was formed in 1992 in response to public concern and as part of a statewide initiative to protect water resources based on local concerns and priorities. Wayne County’s Water Quality Coordinating Committee was formally recognized in March of 1992 by the Wayne County Board of Supervisors as the "lead agency" for water quality issues in the county. Our mission is "To Proactively Address Water Quality Issues As They Relate Primarily To Nonpoint Source Pollution and to make recommendations to the SWCD". Wayne County residents are encouraged to contact the committee for assistance relating to water quality.
