YOUR WATERSHED:

map.gif (62401 bytes)No matter where you live – you are in a watershed ! A watershed is an area of land that drains to a given point such as a stream, lake or bay. All water that lands on a watershed must go somewhere. If it does not enter the groundwater or atmosphere then it travels across the surface into a receiving waterbody.

You can learn more about Wayne County’s 20 Priority Watersheds in our book “Comprehensive Watershed Management In Wayne County – Protecting Our Freshwater Resources.
