*** CERTIFIED WATER TESTING
The WQCC through the SWCD offers "certified" drinking water testing for total and fecal coliform bacteria. The testing follows EPA Standard Methods and is APHA Certified. For more information call (315) 946-4136.
*** LOCAL WATERSHED GRANTS AVAILABLE TO HOMEOWNERS
The WQCC through the SWCD is offering grants to homeowners for On-site Wastewater Treatment Systems (Septic systems). Call the SWCD office at (315)946-4136 for more information.
*** RESOURCE PRESERVATION & WATERSHED ENHANCEMENT PLAN
The WQCC through the SWCD will be administering nearly one (1) million dollars in federal grants secured by Congressman James T. Walsh. The grant will be used to develop this plan which will address such issues as: Aluminum Sulfate applications, Lime applications, alternative methods to control aquatic weeds, land-use and overall water quality enhancement & protection. *** WATERSHED BOOK
An 87 page book on Wayne County's freshwater resources entitled 'Comprehensive Watershed Management in Wayne County'. This book is a great source of water quality information including color photographs of local waterways. Copies are available in print and CD-ROM form.
